Television studios for the institute's in-house
productions would be relocated there. Plans for additional
housing, including some priced for the local workforce, have
also been disclosed.
The project, which has won praise from county
officials, would be developed by Baker Cos. Inc. of Pleasantville
and Gagne Development Co. Inc.
The Baker Cos. is a commercial and residential
real estate developer that has built more than 12,000 homes,
and brokers and manages commercial properties, according to
its Web site. The site lists current tri-state area residential
projects, most with unit selling prices ranging from $350,000
to $500,000.
Gagne Development has sought to develop a number
of golf-course and convention center projects both in New
York and elsewhere in the country.
Founded in 1946, the non-profit institute is an
accredited school that offers two-year associate's and four-year
bachelor's degree programs in culinary arts and restaurant
management.
